Here you will find out what kind of data are transmitted to the NICER data base and how the data are used.

On a yearly basis, each of the cantonal cancer registries delivers an extract from its database on important patient and tumour characteristics, treatments, and survival to the NICER Coordination Centre (NCC). These data are added to the NICER data base, which is hosted and maintained by the NCC.

Descriptive analysis of the information makes it possible to identify the patterns and effectiveness of cancer treatments in different regions of Switzerland.

We request that any person or organization using NICER data include the following statement of acknowledgement in the text of the presentation, report or publication: “Cancer data extracted from the Swiss national dataset managed by the Foundation National Institute for Cancer Epidemiology and Registration (NICER).
